An educational upgrade in the drug and alcohol field

In recent years the need for an educational upgrade of the drug and alcohol field has increasingly come into focus.

In cooperation with three European universities the University of Aarhus  offers a Master education in the drug and alcohol field based on highly qualified international education.

If you have practical experience in the field and wish to supplement with theoretical, research-based knowledge, this course is for you.

In the drug and alcohol field the course will qualify you to:

• Implement and head initiatives
• Critically evaluate research, policy and practice
• Evaluate, monitor and share knowledge
• Strenghten your ability to communicate ideas to different target groups

The Master gives you knowledge about social theories on drugs and alcohol, evidence based practice, cultural perspectives on drugs and alcohol, drugs and crime, harm reduction, users' perspectives, drug policy etc., and you will end the course with a master project, where you specialize in a subject of your own choosing.

With the European Master of Drug and Alcohol Research you will acquire knowledge and tools, which may be brought into play in relevant professional contexts.

Additionally the Master gives you a solid foundation for developing your own academic skills.

The Master consists of part-time studies over 2 years with flexible scheduling, which allows you to stay in your job, while educating yourself.

Much of the course is based on e-learning, which makes it possible for you to be taught by experienced academics from foreign universities (in English) and participate in critical discussions with other European students.
